| Fellowship Awards Banquet | Wednesday, May 07, 2008 | MAY 7, 2008 - Fellowship Awards Banquet - $1500 scholarships awarded to approximately 30 local area high school seniors as well as a summer internship with a sponsor company. Also the Gil Barrett Award will be presented to one of these students (an additional $1000). Details: 5:30 p.m. reception 6:00 dinner - Minuteman Club --- RSVP for this event NLT 1 May 2008. (The high school seniors accompanied by their parents will be in attendance as well as a representative from the sponsor companies. You may want to bring a guest to this event. The following companies will be participating in the program this year and providing a summer internship to a student: BAE Systems, General Dynamics, Jacobs, MITRE, Lockheed Martin, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Northrop Grumman, Oasis Systems, Odyssey Consulting, P3I, PESystems, Quantech Services, and Raytheon Company. | |
| Career Day | Thursday, May 08, 2008 | May 8, 2008 - Career Day - The AFCEA Diversity Committee and the Hanscom Federal Women's Program are sponsoring the seventh annual Career/Job Shadow Day at Hanscom AFB. Our past six events have been very well received and acknowledged. We have planned two-hour segments with live demos and hands-on opportunities for students (Force Protection/Security Forces, Medical Group, MultiMedia Center, and the Flight Training Center are a few of the participating organizations.) This exciting day-long event includes a Continental Breakfast for the students during a Welcome Briefing to include an ESC overview and welcome from ESC senior leadership. Also there will be a Luncheon with an opportunity for questions and a feedback session. MultiMedia will be following the students throughout the day taking pictures and they will be putting together a slide show of the day's events to be shown during the lunch. All students will be receiving a backpack with items donated by various companies/organizations. | |
